| What is the World’s Best 10K?
The World’s Best 10K race originated as a celebration of the Teodoro Moscoso Bridge’s fourth anniversary, which began operations on February 23rd, 1994. From the beginning the idea was to make an outstanding race. To achieve this objective, everybody was invited to be part of this project: businessmen, the Government, the community, the press and people from the sports’ world. The main idea was to thank the community for all the support they gave the Bridge in those first four years of operation.
The race, a 10 kilometers route, evolved from a local to an international event achieving the participation of local and international runners-both professional and amateur. The number of participants grew from nearly 1,000 participants in 1998 to more than 14,000 in the latest edition. Nowadays, the WB10K is the largest and most important sports family event in Puerto Rico. The 2011 edition expects a great number of participants and many visitors from the United States and other countries.
